Welcome!

My name is Tara Zadeh and I’m a psychotherapist with more than 10 years’ experience working in the field of mental health. I began my career as a medical doctor working predominantly in emergency rooms, trauma centres and rural clinics.

During my medical practice, I observed the interweave of psychological challenges and the general well-being of both my patients and colleagues. The result of that reflection and deep contemplation was finding my passion in channelling my working experience, education and training into the field of mental health.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, humanistic and individualized. I see my role as a fellow traveller on your wellness journey towards healing and personal growth, shining the light on your natural healing intelligence and innate capacities that might have fallen in your blind spots.

“Many clients who come to see me are grappling with chronic illnesses, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, burn-out and compassion fatigue.”

My Background

The main modalities and techniques that I incorporate in my practice are mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I integrate the concepts and principles of the Internal Family system (IFS) and other trauma-focused approaches including Polyvagal-informed and Attachment-focused approaches.

As a therapist, I value the opportunity to work with diverse populations. In particular, I’m passionate about counselling first responders, healthcare providers and frontline practitioners working in the medical field whose challenges I can relate to from my own experience in the field. Many clients who come to see me are also grappling with chronic illnesses, trauma, life transitions and relationship difficulties.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (MCC). In addition, I am a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).

Outside my practice, you can find me enjoying nature, travelling and practicing mindfulness and meditation as part of my own self-care. I’m naturally observational and enjoy watching human nature at work!

I look forward to being a fellow traveller on your wellness journey towards healing and growth.
