Lauren Kennedy
Expressive Arts Therapist in Training
I’m Lauren Kennedy, an Art Therapy & Psychotherapy Student at the Vancouver Art Therapy Institute. For more than 20 years, I have worked in education, including 15 years as a guidance counsellor supporting young people and families through emotional, social and mental-health challenges . I came to art therapy because I believe deeply that sometimes words simply aren’t enough. Creativity can give us another language.
I am interested in creating art therapy experiences that bring groups and individuals together through creativity, reflection and connection.
These could include:
• One-time art therapy workshops
• Monthly creative gatherings
• Small therapeutic groups
• Experiences centred around belonging, identity, transitions, relationships and finding safety within ourselves and our communities.
Each gathering would include thoughtfully chosen art materials, a gentle invitation to create, and space for reflection and connection.
Harness the mind-body connection to create new pathways in your life.
At New Pathways Therapy Center, we believe therapy is a collaborative process. We don’t just sit back and listen. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing, balance and growth.
