Our Story

New Pathways came into being through an evolution of vision, values, and friendship

Part of our founding team spent years working together as social work colleagues at St. Michael’s Hospital, supporting individuals from all walks of life. In that institutional setting, we learned the value of cross-disciplinary collaboration, critical thinking, and developing programs that responded to real, unmet needs. Over time, however, we also witnessed the limitations of a system that often demands too much from clinicians while offering too little to those in need of care.

Stepping into private practice wasn’t just a career move—it was a creative leap. Rachael, our founder, left the hospital to imagine a new model of care: one rooted in the core values of social work, but free from the constraints of institutional bureaucracy. Having seen firsthand how trauma, disconnection, and nervous system dysregulation often go unaddressed in traditional settings, she envisioned a different approach—one that remained collaborative and interdisciplinary, rather than following the typical solo model of private practice.

“We know that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why we view therapy not just as a clinical service, but as a form of relational and community care.”

New Pathways has since grown into a collective of therapists committed to offering care that is innovative, inclusive, and deeply human. We bring together the best of somatic psychotherapy, nervous system regulation (including neurofeedback), and spiritually informed integration work. Our team members are skilled clinicians with years of experience—and we’re also seekers, learners, artists, and community builders. Many of us have walked our own healing paths, and we bring that humility and insight to the work we do.

We know that healing doesn’t happen in isolation. That’s why we view therapy not just as a clinical service, but as a form of relational and community care. We think of New Pathways as more than a clinic—it’s a refuge, a place for creative unfolding, and a portal into the next chapter of your life. Whether you’re with us for a few sessions or a few years, we’re here to walk alongside you.

We believe…

  • The body is central to healing.

  • Trauma is a portal to transformation.

  • Healing is relational, not prescriptive.

  • Therapists need care, too—we can’t offer what we haven’t embodied.

As the world shifts—through ecological crisis, technological overload, and spiritual longing—we are called to evolve alongside it. We’re proud to be part of a growing movement of mental health professionals who are willing to step outside the box and meet people where they are: in their bodies, their communities, and their longing for something more.

We invite you to explore what’s possible here.

Harness the mind-body connection to create new pathways in your life.

At New Pathways Therapy Center, we believe therapy is a collaborative process. We don’t just sit back and listen. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing, balance and growth.
