Sofia Forman, PsyD
Registered Psychotherapist
Welcome!
I believe that healing is possible when we are met with presence, compassion, and the space to explore all parts of ourselves — mind, body, and spirit. Whether you're navigating grief, life transitions, motherhood, or seeking deeper self-awareness, I offer a grounded and gentle presence to support your journey.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute, Berkley University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University, where I focused on the intersection of spirituality and mental health, including end-of-life care. My path as a therapist has also been shaped by extensive training in yoga, Pilates, and somatic practices, along with my own personal journey of healing and growth.
I bring over a decade of experience working with individuals navigating grief and loss, identity exploration, and trauma. I have a particular passion for supporting people through the tender and complex experiences of fertility challenges, maternal loss, and the perinatal journey. I care deeply about creating an inclusive and attuned space where each person feels safe to come as they are — no fixing, no forcing, just presence and curiosity.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a lifelong student of the mind-body connection, a movement practitioner, and someone who finds joy in creativity, nature, and the mystery of being human.
“Supporting the mind-body-spirit connection with compassion and depth.”
My Clinical Approaches
My approach to therapy is integrative and collaborative. Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
Traditional talk therapy
Mindfulness and guided meditation
Somatic and breath-based tools to support nervous system regulation
Creative expression through art or journaling
Gentle movement or yoga-based practices (where appropriate)
Support for fertility struggles, perinatal mental health, and maternal grief
Spiritual or existential inquiry
I offer both virtual and in-person sessions and tailor my approach to meet you wherever you are on your healing path.
Harness the mind-body connection to create new pathways in your life.
At New Pathways Therapy Center, we believe therapy is a collaborative process. We don’t just sit back and listen. We look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing, balance and growth.
