Nurse Psychotherapist
Welcome!
I am a nurse psychotherapist who supports people navigating life’s difficult transitions — moments of change, loss, uncertainty, and questions about meaning and direction. Many of the people I work with are facing grief, burnout, health concerns, or periods in life when the ways they once coped no longer feel supportive.
My approach is compassionate, holistic, and mindfulness-informed, creating a calm space where you can slow down, reflect, and reconnect with a sense of balance and meaning. I draw on my background in nursing, trauma-informed care, and mind–body approaches to support emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Together we explore what you are carrying — emotionally, physically, and spiritually — and work toward greater clarity, balance, and resilience.
“I believe that suffering is part of being human, and that healing often begins when we feel truly seen and accompanied in our experience.”
My Background
Drawing on my background in nursing, mindfulness practice, and trauma-informed care, I offer a holistic approach that attends to the body, mind, emotions, and the broader context of your life. Sessions often include deep listening, reflection, and gentle practices that help regulate the nervous system and support emotional wellbeing.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dalhousie University, a Master of Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a PhD in Social and Behavioural Health Sciences from the University of Toronto. I am a Registered Nurse Psychotherapist in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
My early clinical work included general medicine, withdrawal management, and primary care supporting urban Indigenous communities through culturally safe and harm-reduction-focused care. Later I moved into research and teaching focused on mental health, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing.
For over eight years I have also taught in the Mindfulness-Informed End-of-Life program at the University of Toronto. Across her clinical, research, and teaching work, I remain committed to compassionate, trauma-informed, and person-centred care.
